The verification of the internal electrical installations is done both during the execution of the electrical installation work and before putting it into operation. Through the verifications, it is ensured that the installations are executed correctly according to the technical standards and correspond to the STAS.

It is mandatory to check the electrical continuity of the insulated conductors before they are installed. The protective tubes will be checked for defects, discontinuities, etc.

Upon completion of the installation, the following will be checked:

  • The method of execution of the installation, to correspond to the purposes
  • Correctness of fuse calibration
  • The size of the installed tubes and conductors
  • The connections of the conductors in the switchboard, to the devices and in the boxes
  • Correct realization and verification of the protection installation
  • Insulation resistance of the installation
  • Checking the earth connection

The final check of the installation must be done correctly and with a sense of responsibility to prevent accidents or problems during use.

Detailed operations that are strictly necessary:

  • It will be checked if the columns are correctly sized between the main table, the secondary table and the meter
  • It will be checked if the distribution boards correspond qualitatively, if they are protected and mounted properly, if the input and output terminals are protected, if the output circuits are safe, etc.
  • They will check if the sections and the number of circuits have been respected
  • It is checked whether there were no bends in the tubes or low-quality conductors
  • It will be checked whether the fuses or the automatic circuit breakers installed are regimented for circuits suitable with the receivers and the current intensity of the conductors
  • It will be checked how the connections were made in the boxes and if spare ends of the necessary length were left in the boxes of devices or derivation
  • The installation of special sockets with protective contact in the bathrooms and kitchens will be checked

The insulation resistance of the installation will be measured at the voltage at which the installation operates.

The measurement will be done in turn both on the conductors in the column between the panels and on the conductors in the circuits determined by the insulation resistance of the conductors between them and the ground. Before checking, remove the fuses from the panels and check the lack of voltage. To measure the insulation of the conductors, the switches are opened with all the lamps installed, or all the lamps are removed and the switches are closed. The verification is done for each conductor separately.

At electrical installations in operation, consumers must make periodic checks of the mode of operation and the state of the electrical installation, according to the Regulation for the supply and use of electricity. The supplier, through a survey, performs the control of the new installations, before connecting to the electrical supply network, but this does not eliminate the contractor’s responsibility. The consumer is obliged to check the installation periodically, which can be carried out by specialized personnel but also by the supplier for a fee.
